Business Journal Features Ginter in Women Who Mean Business Retrospective
The Kansas City Business Journal, as part of its Women Who Mean Business program, highlighted many of the recent accomplishments of CommunityAmerica under the leadership of CEO Lisa Ginter.
The Business Journal is spending much of 2019 highlighting the Women Who Mean Business program celebrating its 20th anniversary. Ginter initially received the Women Who Mean Business honor from the Business Journal in 2010, when she was CommunityAmerica COO. She took over for Dennis Pierce as CEO in March 2015.
"Winning the award as a COO, I was sitting next to women who ran big companies, started big companies or sold their businesses,” Ginter told the Business Journal. “It was really interesting to hear different perspectives on their journeys, the successes and obstacles they’ve had to overcome in a multitude of different industries. As I progressed in my career, I put a stake in the ground saying I wanted to lead my organization when our CEO retired. I learned from the group of women around me, and I’m forever grateful to them because I always felt they were coming along on this journey with me to become CEO.”
