Joan Cohen serves as Chief Administrative Officer at CommunityAmerica Credit Union, responsible for Real Estate and Facilities, the Executive Project Management Office, Legal and Compliance, Risk, Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery and Process Improvements. She is also the interim leader of the Information Technology team.
Joan leads projects and initiatives that span the entire organization with a focus on risk mitigation and systems improvement. Prior to joining CommunityAmerica, Joan led her own consulting company for six years, and spent 30 years gaining progressive leadership experience in the financial services industry. Most recently she served as President of Emerging Businesses at H&R Block, and prior to that, H&R Block Financial Advisors.
In the community, Joan is an active volunteer and Board Member of Operation Breakthrough, Missouri’s largest early education center. She was also named to the 2005 class of Kansas City Business Journal’s ‘Women Who Mean Business.’
Joan received her undergraduate degree in Accounting and Spanish at Adrian College in Michigan, and is a Certified Public Accountant.
