CommunityAmerica and Metropolitan Community College to Host Free Fall Festival at Community Access Center

What: CommunityAmerica Credit Union and Metropolitan Community College will host a free Fall Festival that is open to the public. Activities include a pumpkin patch, hay bales, face painting, balloon artists and pumpkin decorating. A food truck and cotton candy cart will also be available on-site. CommunityAmerica will also be hosting giveaways including tickets to a Kansas City Chiefs game and a Kansas City Royals Swag Bag. MCC will have their Virtual Reality Training Goggles available for individuals to try out immersive hands-on training programs. They will also giveaway a scholarship for a free class. Non-profit community partners Swope Health and Goodwill Workforce Development will each bring their trucks to the site.

Why: The Community Access Center is part of a new CommunityAmerica initiative aimed at providing access to financial tools and resources to help break down barriers to banking. They will also plan to partner with other organizations in the area which will offer their expertise in their own areas to impact the overall well-being and growth of the community. The Community Access Center opened in Hickman Mills in August.
