WeStreet Credit Union and CommunityAmerica Credit Union Announce NCUA Approval of Proposed Merger

Proposed merger brings together shared values, greater scale, and expanded member benefits

Tulsa, Okla. and Lenexa, Kan. October 14, 2026 – WeStreet Credit Union and CommunityAmerica Credit Union today announced that the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) has approved their proposed merger.

The merger will enable the combined organization to serve more members and amplify the “people helping people” philosophy that has guided both credit unions for more than 80 years. The combined organization will operate as CommunityAmerica Credit Union under the leadership of CEO Lisa Ginter. WeStreet president and CEO Greg Gallant will serve as the credit union’s market president for Oklahoma and Arkansas.

“This merger marks an exciting next step in healthy, member-focused growth for both credit unions. We’re excited to build on the strong foundation WeStreet has established in Oklahoma. Tulsa is a natural extension of our growing Midwest presence. Together, our scale and resources will create greater value for members—all with the goal of helping more people achieve financial peace of mind,” said Lisa Ginter, CEO of CommunityAmerica Credit Union.

“This decision was made thoughtfully and intentionally, with the full support of our board of directors and a clear focus on what is best for our members, employees and the Tulsa community,” said Greg Gallant, WeStreet’s president and CEO. “CommunityAmerica shares our values and our unwavering commitment to putting people first. This merger will expand our members’ access to innovative financial solutions and deliver exceptional value for them and their families well into the future.”

CommunityAmerica is one of the nation’s strongest credit unions, with a reputation for investing in its members and the communities it serves. Following completion of the merger, the combined organization will approach $11 billion in assets and serve nearly 700,000 members across 15 states. CommunityAmerica will be the largest credit union in Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma, with an expanded Midwest branch network and broader access to financial products, services and resources.

The merger will also bring CommunityAmerica’s signature Profit Payout program to Oklahoma, giving eligible members an opportunity to share directly in the credit union’s financial success. Each year, CommunityAmerica rewards eligible members who choose the credit union for most of their banking needs by returning a share of its profits directly to them. Since 2012, the credit union has returned more than $110 million to members through this unique program.

In addition to its commitment to members, CommunityAmerica is recognized for its dedication to community involvement and charitable giving. In 2025, the organization contributed more than $1 million to nonprofit and community initiatives, a commitment that will extend to the communities served by the credit union throughout Oklahoma.

The next step in the process is a WeStreet member vote, which is currently underway. For more information about the proposed merger, visit westreet.org/brightertogether.
