Kat Hnatyshyn currently serves as the Indirect Lending Program Director at CommunityAmerica Credit Union, overseeing the program and our partnership with approximately 160 auto and Harley Davidson dealerships throughout the Kansas City metro. This partnership gives CommunityAmerica members a smooth auto buying experience by allowing them to finance their vehicle through us, directly from the dealership.

Kat has been part of the CommunityAmerica family since 2004. She began her journey at the credit union in our branches, serving as a Branch Manager and Regional Market Director through 2019 before transitioning to Indirect Lending. She also started our long-running Kat’s Money Corner blog through the Kansas City Star, providing practical financial advice for the paper’s weekly readers.

Kat grew up in Skiatook, Oklahoma, and currently lives in Overland Park, Kansas. She graduated from Graceland University with a bachelor’s degree in Speech Communications. In her free time, Kat supports multiple Kansas City charities and organizations – primarily those involved in addressing poverty and financial literacy issues. She also serves as the Vice Board Chair of Community Service League. When not at work or giving back to her community, Kat enjoys spending time with her husband – who is from Canada – and her two boys who have grown into a couple of fierce hockey players.
